Durbanville Trails

Overview:

Spanning over 150 km of interconnected trails across scenic wine farms, this tour blends flowing singletrack with vineyard views and rolling terrain. It’s an ideal option for riders wanting a balanced mix of scenery and trail variety. Routes can be adapted for beginner-friendly flow or more technical lines depending on the group.

 

Terrain:

Expect smooth contour trails, switchbacks carved into vineyard slopes, and purpose-built features. Terrain ranges from open ridgelines and farm roads to forest patches and sculpted descents. Some routes include tight hairpin turns and technical sections, while others offer relaxed, social riding through the hills.

Grabouw Trails

Highlights:

  • Forest, orchard, vineyard, and mountain landscapes in one ride
  • Groomed singletrack with flowing descents
  • Wooden bridges and character-rich trail features

 Overview:

 

Grabouw’s trail networks combine dramatic scenery with beautifully maintained singletrack. Riders move through oak forests, orchards, fynbos and mountain slopes, creating a varied and immersive experience. The trails are known for their flow and thoughtful design, making them suitable for confident beginners through to experienced riders.

 

Terrain:

 

Trail builders use natural gradients and river valleys to create smooth contour climbs and long, swooping descents. Expect wooden bridge crossings, rocky stretches, forested sections and flowing singletrack that makes the most of the landscape’s natural rhythm.

Tokai Forest Trails

Highlights:

  • Flowing forest singletrack with sculpted berms and switchbacks
  • Rock gardens, wooden bridges, and optional technical features
  • Exhilarating descents through pine plantations and fynbos

Location: Tokai Forest, Table Mountain National Park

 Overview:

 

Tokai offers a rewarding climb up jeep tracks to reach beautifully built contour trails. The e-bike assist makes the ascent manageable, leaving more energy for the flowing singletrack that follows. Trails range from smooth, beginner-friendly lines to steeper blue and black routes for skilled riders. The descent back to the start is fast, flowing, and packed with personality.

 

Terrain:

 

Rugged mountain slopes and pine plantations give way to sculpted singletrack through indigenous fynbos. Riders can expect flowing berms, rocky technical sections, wooden bridge crossings, and optional drops. “Chicken runs” are available on more technical features, so riders can choose their comfort level without pressure.

Table Mountain

Overview:


A scenic circular ride through the foothills of Table Mountain, designed for capable mountain bikers who enjoy technical terrain. Parts of the route mirror sections of the prologue from the Cape Epic, offering a true Cape Town riding experience. The tour can be tailored for more relaxed riders or pushed further for technically confident cyclists looking for a challenge. Expect big views, varied terrain, and a proper mountain ride close to the city.


Terrain:


The ride begins and ends on flowing farm roads for a comfortable warm-up and cool-down. In between, technical ascents lead to some of the highest rideable contour paths below the cable car line. Expect rocky sections, rock garden traverses, cliff-edge singletrack in places, and fast descents depending on route choice. Views stretch across the city centre, Waterfront, Robben Island, the bay and surrounding coastline.

Spice Route Experience

Designed for small groups and relaxed riding, this experience combines premium e-bikes, guided routes and wine country hospitality into one unforgettable day out. After the ride, guests unwind with four tastings and a meal at Jewell’s Restaurant within the Spice Route Destination.

 

Terrain:

 

Expect flowing vineyard roads, scenic jeep track climbs, limited single tracks and relaxed trail riding with panoramic mountain views throughout the route. The focus of this experience is less on technical riding and more on enjoying the surroundings, the scenery and the overall day out.

Frequently Asked Questions

We recommend wearing comfortable cycling clothing and closed shoes suitable for riding. Please bring sunscreen, a small backpack if you prefer, and any personal items you may need during the ride. Water and light refreshments are provided.

Some routes are suitable for confident recreational riders, while others require solid mountain biking experience. Each tour is clearly rated by difficulty, and we’re happy to help you choose the right option based on your comfort level and experience.

Yes. All tours include a premium full-suspension electric mountain bike and helmet. Bikes are set up for each rider before departure, including basic adjustments and a safety briefing. 

A reasonable level of general fitness is helpful, but the e-MTB assistance means you don’t need peak cycling fitness. Our tours focus on enjoyment, not endurance, with regular breaks and a comfortable pace.

If conditions are unsuitable for a specific route, we’ll recommend an alternative or discuss rescheduling to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience or a full refund.

Tours are best suited to adult riders and older teenagers with appropriate riding experience. Riders should be comfortable controlling a bike on uneven terrain. If you’re unsure, get in touch and we’ll advise.
